Drink Driving

Who's Involved

Global Actions on Harmful Drinking is the result of a collective commitment made by major international beverage alcohol producers.

We are working with leading international organizations and experts to assist us in engaging with local road safety stakeholders in the target countries.

The International Center for Alcohol Policies (ICAP) has appointed a three-member Senior Advisory Group to provide independent scientific and implementation advice to the Drink Driving Initiative. These senior advisors bring experience of developmental issues in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), technical knowledge of the drinking and driving field, practical experience of monitoring and evaluation in LMICs, and knowledge of road safety policy and data issues.

The Senior Advisory Group will perform the following functions:
• Review implementation plans, publications and capacity building tools for the capacity building trainings
• Provide guidance to the situation assessment guidelines
• Review project proposals, methodologies, reports and analyses
• Provide guidance on knowledge sharing platforms to disseminate good practice across the initiative.
• Advise on effective monitoring and evaluation processes

The Senior Advisory Group is:

David Silcock

David Silcock is currently an independent consultant whose recent work includes serving as an advisor to Research Institute of Highway on improving road safety through the use of ITS (funded by ADB) and a road safety consultant in China with the World Bank’s South Caucuses transport team providing advice and project monitoring in Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
